Sweet and Sour Chicken / Pork

In this recipe, I used gigot chops. Instead of garlic salt, I used garlic paste + salt. Instead of corn starch, I use corn flour for frying. also I skipped the 2nd time frying if I don't have time.

- Chicken / pork belly / Gigot chops (cut into bite size)
- 1 red 1 yellow 1 green pepper (cut into bite size)
- 1 yellow 1 red onion (cut about 3 layers into bite size)
- 1/2 can Pineapple (cut into bite size)
- Corn Starch / Corn Flour (for Fying)
- 2 tbsp GF all-purpose flour
- Marinate
- 1.5 tbsp soya sauce
- 1 tsp garlic salt / garlic paste + salt
- 1 egg
- Sauce
- 6 tbsp ketchup
- 4 tbsp brown sugar
- 4 tbsp vinegar
- 1 tbsp corn starch
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 4 tbsp water
Steps to make to make Sweet and Sour Chicken / Pork
- Marinate the meat. In a big bowl, move the meat on one side and add soya sauce and garlic salt to the other side before mixing them together.
- Once mixed, add egg on top and mix again and massage it for 30 sec. Set aside for about 30 mins or longer.
- Prepare the sauce, mix all ingredients thoroughly for about a min. Set aside.
- Back to the meat, add GF flour and mix thoroughly for 30 sec.
- Put corn starch in a plate, and coat all the meat individually, press them so the starch stick to the meat.
- Heat up the oil (just enough to cover the meat) in a wok. on medium heat, Deep fry the meat for about 8 mins. Don't stir the meat first, leave it for about 2 mins before stir them.
- Remove the meat from the wok, turn to high heat and deep fry the meat the 2nd time, for about 2 mins.
- Remove the meat and oil from the wok.
- In the same wok, add the veg (pepper, onions) into the wok cook for 1 min before adding the pineapples in. cook for another min and set aside.
- In the same wok, add 1 tbsp of oil and add the sauce and cook for 2-3 mins until it turn thick.
- Add the vegs and meat back into the wok, mix them around for about 3 mins.
- Serve with rice and garnish with coriander.
